This online training workshop is designed specifically for Montessori educators and their assistants.The elemental approach to music integrates speech, movement, singing, and play into a multisensory experience that supports the development of the whole child.

 

Easily incorporated into the Montessori classroom, these musical experiences complement daily activities and learning objectives while providing multiple entry points for children with diverse learning needs and abilities. The approach is accessible and adaptable for educators at all levels of musical experience.

 

Objectives:

• Using clapping games and movement to express a steady beat;

• Transferring natural speech rhythms to body percussion and percussion instruments;

• Transitioning from sensorial experience to writing and reading rhythms in nursery rhymes and poems;

• Encouraging vocal exploration through simple melodic improvisations and songs;

• Absorbing the intercultural nature of dance;

• Supporting each child's individual creativity within a responsive community environment.

 

 Components:

• 8 hours of instruction and continued free Q&A’s;

• 125-page lesson manual for daily classroom implementation;

• Daily record keeping, both in the manual and available on Transparent Classroom.

• Certificate of Completion

• Saturdays, September 9 and 26 - October 3 and 10

• 12-2pm

Recordings: Elemental music is interactive and relies on everyone’s presence. To encourage everyone’s participation and maintain an open learning environment, sessions are not recorded.​
