Elemental Music and Movement
The Level 1 training workshop introduces basic skills and age-old strategies for active music-making. In short daily sessions after the Montessori work period, children discover their inherent musical abilities through movement, speech rhythms, body percussion, stories, poems, dramatic play, dance, singing games, and simple percussion instruments. The principles of elemental music are adaptable to any age group and culture.
Highlights:
Literacy-based entry-points to rhythm, movement, and singing;
Deep dive into movement, inspired by Feldenkrais and Laban Movement Analysis;
Multisensory modalities for differentiated learning needs;
Embodied exploration of Montessori concepts;
Detailed lessons in a 120-page manual and electronic record keeping program.

Four 2-hour live virtual sessions:
Mondays, October 28, November 4, 11, 18, 7-9 pm ET
Tuition: $135.00 per person (includes two free zoom coaching sessions and optional 8 CEUs from Loyola University Maryland)

Sessions are not recorded. Traditionally, elemental music is interactive and needs everyone’s presence.
