Essentials of Montessori Music and Movement

Course Overview

This training workshop offers a clear, step-by-step introduction to rhythm, movement, singing, and playful musical exploration. Inspired by the Orff-Schulwerk approach and aligned with Montessori principles of human development, the course views music not as a specialty but as a natural human capacity. Participants learn how to support the young child’s emerging coordination and social-emotional growth, as well as the older child’s expanding imagination and reasoning, making independent music-making a meaningful part of daily life.

Learning Objectives

• Explore Montessori content and concepts through multisensory experiences

• Adapt childlike, playful strategies to different learning levels and learning differences

• Embrace music and movement as fundamental human expressions, as natural as walking and speaking

• 9 hours of live instruction

• Two optional Q&A sessions

• 130-page lesson manual for daily classroom use

• Electronic record-keeping spreadsheet

Live Instruction

• Saturdays: January 10 & 24, February 7, 2026

• Time: 12–3 PM ET

Optional Q&A Sessions

• January 17 & 31, 2026

• Time: 1–2 PM ET

Tuition: $175 per person

Recordings

Sessions are not recorded. Elemental music learning is highly interactive and relies on the shared presence of all participants.
